Blackberry may launch 6 handsets based on its new platform

At present, we are all aware that BlackBerry mobile phone maker Research In Motion (RIM) is all set to release its next generation operating platform Blackberry 10 early next year. Now sources in the market have reported that the company is planning to release as many as six devices based on its new BlackBerry 10.

With the assistance of these six BlackBerry 10 devices, RIM is planning to attract smartphone users from every walk of life be it top-end, mid or entry-level. RIM is planning to release its smartphones across various market segments at the time of the launch. This move might prove to be a smart move from RIM. The company is also hoping that this movie of their will help them to recapture their lost market-share.

According to the sources, out of the six Blackberry 10 devices two smartphones will be the torch bearers for this new BlackBerry platform and from the images we can say that RIM has put a lot of effort behind their design. The first devices will be a touch-only smartphone much similar to that of BlackBerry Storm 9500, while the other one will be a QWERTY + touch device similar to that of BlackBerry Torch 9800.

It is also reported that the touchscreen only smartphone will be imbibed with a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels while on the other hand, the QWERTY + touch one will boost a 720×720 pixel display unit. BlackBerry in its official website indicated that the early BlackBerry 10 smartphones may come packed with Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core chipset.
